Travel Guide: Trusted Traveler Programs

I had a conversation with a friend that prompted this article. We were discussing international travel and the occasional horror of clearing customs. I began to explain what a blessing it's been traveling internationally with Global Entry. To my surprise, my well-traveled friend had no idea what this was. I was in shock, she out of anyone would benefit from this! After I explained its benefits, she vowed she would sign up immediately. I thought, hmmm how many other people don't know about these travel short cuts? So here you go, enjoy!

GLOBAL ENTRY™

Global Entry™ is voluntary program is perfect for low-risk, frequent, international travelers, and open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and citizens of certain other countries. Members enter the United States through automatic kiosks at select airports.

TSA PRECHECK™

The Transportation Security Administration’s PreCheck program or TSA PreCheck™ is open to some elite frequent fliers as well as travelers enrolled in one of the Customs and Border Protection’s expedited entry programs: Global Entry, Nexus and Sentri.

TSA PreCheck lets eligible, low-risk travelers enjoy expedited security screening. The program is available at participating U.S. airport locations and for most international itineraries. With TSA PreCheck™ travelers ease through checkpoints without removing shoes, laptops from your bag, belts, outerwear or jackets, and liquids or gels from carry-ons.

Once enrolled in the program, TSA PreCheck logo will appear on both printed and mobile boarding passes.
