There’s a vibrant arts culture, with many museums and art galleries including Te Papa – New Zealand's national museum – in the capital city, Wellington. The unique Māori culture of its indigenous people can be explored around the country, with plenty of chances for visitors to visit a marae or see a traditional kapa haka (Māori performing arts) show.
